The Institute of Interfaith Dialog, Oklahoma City office hosted its 5th Luncheon Forum on December 15, 2008. The luncheon forum was followed by an audience of more than 75 as it was the first such forum at the IID's newly renovated Oklahoma City office. The guest speaker was Dr. Charles Kimball, the director of religious studies program at the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Kimball's speech was entitled: Christians and Muslims in the 21st Century: Obstacles and Opportunities. Dr. Kimball is an internationally renowned scholar and author on the issues related to Jewish-Christian-Muslim relations.(12 December,2008 Oklahoma city,OK)

The Hon. Madeleine Albright, 64th Secretary of State, was the keynote speaker at the opening ceremony of Turquoise Center in Houston. Turquoise Center is home to several organizations including the IID’s Houston chapter, and the Raindrop Foundation.

Austin, Will Wynn,initiated efforts for reforestation of wildfire-damaged
areas near Antalya, Turkey. Recently, fire destroyed approximately 9,800 acres of forested area in Antalya, Turkey (http://edition.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/europe/08/02/turkey.fires.)

San Antonio Institute of Interfaith Dialog in collaboration with the Gulen Institute and Raindrop Turkish House organized 4th Annual Annual Friendship & Dialog Dinner. The dinner took place at the Club at Sonterra, the Ballroom on Thursday, September 25, 2008 at 7:00pm.
Distinguished speakers include Mayor Phil Hardberger, State Representative Ruth McClendon, Justice Rebecca Simmons, Judge Tom Rickhoff, Richard Perez (President of Chamber of Commerce).

IID sponsored fifth annual interfaith dinner at Petroleum club on 25 September, 2008. Nurcihan Uysal, a representative of The Institute of Interfaith Dialog, Oklahoma City chapter, welcomed the attendees and told them that she had gotten involved with The Institute to create a common community among Muslims and people of other faiths in the state that is now her home.
